Jason Nichols, who “sings...with vulnerability and passion” (Roanoke Times), is a tenor continuing in his second year of the opera graduate artist certificate program at UNT. A winner in the 2016 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, he is a versatile singer with ample experience onstage and in the studio. 

 Recent travels saw Jason abroad in the Czech Republic premiering the modern adaptations of Heinrich Schmelzer’s Le Veglie Ossequiose and Die Sieben Alter Stimmen Zusammen. He will also be singing with the Dallas Symphony in their upcoming production of Salome as Jude 4 under the direction of Fabio Luisi. Jason has also performed under the illustrious batons of Marzio Conti, Lukas Beikercher, Marius Stieghorst, and Stephen White. 

Recent  roles include Il Duca (Rigoletto), Don José (Carmen)  Alfredo (La Traviata), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Ferrando (Così fan tutte), Leo Hubbard (Regina), Schoolmaster (Cunning Little Vixen) and many others.
